Spooky Writer's Cave--Lex Valentine

Only spooky because one of Lex's caves (she has two--one at work and one at home), is by a cemetery, as you'll see why in her bio.

At her work cave, Lex pounds out about 700 words every lunch hour. The other cave is a corner of the master bedroom.

Lex has been writing ever since she could hold a pencil. She got into blogging and online serial stories a few years ago. The snippets she posted on her personal blog Sunlight Sucks drew the attention of author Jennifer Leeland who encouraged her to submit her writing to publishers. That led to her first contract in October 2008. Lex is now an award winning, multi-published PAN author who lives in Southern California with her daughter Nikki and a younger man - her long-haired, tattooed significant other, Rott. She loves loud rock music, builds her own computers, and has a propensity for having very weird vivid dreams about Nikki Sixx. Lex works full-time at a cemetery as the network administrator and has a love of all things techie.

Rock My World is Lex's Ellora's Cave contemporary novella. Release date is TBA.

Rock star Gia Santora is at the height of her career and tired of life on the road. At thirty-seven, she’s ready for more than a string of one-night stands. However, a frightening brush with a psychotic stalker three years before has her running scared. When she meets her sexy, young opening act, he pushes all her buttons, sexually and emotionally. Sin Carstens is twenty-nine and rock’s hottest new ticket. But he’s got priorities other than music, and one of them is Gia. Sin wants a relationship with the commitment-shy singer and he’s willing to do anything to have her. Then, Gia’s stalker is released from prison and their lives take a sinister turn. To protect Sin, Gia sends him away, but breaks her own heart in the process. It’s a battle of wills and guitars as Sin fights Gia’s fears in an effort to win himself the sexiest woman he’s ever known and prove to her that he can rock her world.

Amber - The cemetery is beautiful! It's also an arboretum so it's very peaceful and always gorgeous. And my boss is total eye candy. LOL Makes it easy to go to work. ;)

Nina - My desk is always covered in crap as my kid says. At work, I have so many things going at the same time that usually you can't see the surface of the desk!

Hmmm. I've known you for awhile now and I think this is the first time I've seen your habitats. LOL. Nice spaces but I especially like the eye candy on your monitor! :-)

Lex! So this is where the magic happens? I'm in awe but where are the babies? Hehe...I thought we'd see one or two curled up at the home cave.

I'm envious! Oh, my dream is to have a true writing space instead of just my dining room table!

Enjoyed, Lex!

Renee - Ahhh. The wallpaper on my office computer when that photo was taken is a photo of a 6'10" young Scottish lad with a penchant for girls and boys.;)

Cynthia - I have a M/M in the works for a fall release and strangely enough...they meet and have sex for the first time in the cemetery! LOL

Regina - Ah, another fan of Darrien! He's quite eyecatching that's for sure. ;)

Moria - They were hiding under the bed because the vacuum had just been run. LOL

Carol - I've had that beat up old IKEA desk for about 13 years now. I really need a new one. Sometimes, I write on my netbook with it sitting on an end table in the living room. Mostly so I can hang with Rott. :)

Nicole - Both of mine get that way. It's the incredible multiplying paper monster!

Lisa - I do! Always, darlin! And thank you. :) I'm sure there will be more. After all, I can't seem to stop writing.

Amber, Couldn't work near a cemetery? I live near one. I have a nice view from my pool and bedroom window.

Nina, LOL. "woman after my own chaos". yeah, that's about how my dining room looks. She can be part of the club, huh?

And I agree with Lex, the cemetery by me is beautiful. Lots of trees and shrubs, and, err, flowers. I jog in there often and it's interesting reading the tombstones. Many Civil War veterans.

Renee, I was wondering that too about the pic. Now I'll have to pull it up on my screen and enlarge it. LOL

Cynthia, M/M in a cemetery. Oooh sounds intriguing.

Hey Regina, Yes, that kind of eye candy will be inspiring. I have an "inspiring" mouse pad I adore.

Moria, I think it's very cool seeing the writers's caves. Thanks for stopping by.

Carol, I with you. I use my dining room table too.

Nicole is part of the chaos club. :)

Hi Lisa, Lex's new book sounds awesome.

Hi Karenna, Thanks for stopping by to check out Lex's cave.

Lex,
You work at a Cemetery--No wonder you've been titled with "Spooky."

Have you seen any ghosts? Had to ask.

Your books sound wonderful. Love paranormal and I wish you well with your releases! suspenseful tales.

Kathy,
I like your blog header. Dark, mysterious and romantic--perfect!

Kathy - Thank you for coming by! I've seen no ghosts but I have co-workers who swear they've seen the "green lady" who haunts our cemetery and others who swear they've heard the crying of the babies who are entombed in this one corridor of the historic mausoleum where only children are.

Hi Karen, Thanks so much. You're so sweet to say. I love the design too. Rae Monet did an awesome job.

Hi Lex, Thanks for responding to all the posts. I've always loved ghost stories. How interesting about the 'green lady'. And how sad about the baby cries.
