BLURB: Finding a position as corporate legal counsel in one’s middle-50s after being downsized sucks, so Aaron haunts his local dungeon to soothe his frustration. Feeling squeezed by work and family obligations, ghost writer Julia turns up at the same dungeon to do “research” for her current assignment.
The moment they meet, the dominant in Aaron recognizes the submissive in Julia.
He peels away the layers of her shyness along with her clothes. He gets her—his Jewel—naked and writhing against the cross and over the spanking bench. And she revels in his dominance and tutelage, discovering her wanton self whether tied to a bed in private or blindfolded and the target of many hands in public.
But real life isn’t all adult fun and games. Not when grown children, parents, careers and aging bodies conspire to challenge their burgeoning relationship.
Excerpt from AARON’S JEWEL
By Cris Anson ©2014
Withdrawing her hand, she bit
the inside of her cheek, debating whether to tell him. But he’d opened up to
her, she could do no less. “Mine left me for a Hooters waitress. My daughters
now have a half-brother who’s more like a son to them. We’re all civil, most of
the time.”
“A Hooters waitress.” Aaron
gave her a stare with those black-brown eyes that made a tantalizing shiver
dance down her spine. “He must be a real stupid son of a bitch.”
Her mouth curved upward. “How
nice of you to say that.”
“Julia, I mean it. You really
are a jewel. Classy, intelligent, easy to talk to, very attractive and, if I
may be a little bit of a macho chauvinist pig, you have a killer body.”
Speechless. What should she say
to that? She knew she’d added more than a few pounds since her twenties, knew
that the evidence of child-bearing showed in her sagging breasts, her pooch of
a belly with its stretch marks, but she wasn’t about to demur—he’d likely feel
she was fishing for more compliments.
He leaned forward across the
booth, the last few pieces of their tomato pie forgotten. “Tell me what you
like about BDSM.”
She blinked. Wow, what a change
of subject. It made her heart rate speed up.
“You don’t need to be afraid of
me, Jewel. I’ll give you the names of a dozen people who are members of North
City Power Exchange and ask you to check me out. You’ll find I’m a serious
practitioner who believes in safe, sane and consensual. I’m clean, I get tested
every year. Not that I ever play with questionable partners; I do it to put my
partners’ minds to rest. I would like to learn all about you, what you want,
how you react. I want to see you naked, want to feel my hands on your skin. I
want to hear your moans, I want to watch your face when I make you come.”
She still couldn’t speak. Nor
could she deny the effect his words had on her psyche.
“Julia. I’ll repeat this only
once. Tell me what you like about BDSM.”
The tone of his voice, not loud
but forceful nonetheless, broke her mental logjam. That was a Dominant talking.
Taking a deep breath, she thought, Sink-or-swim time.
“I like the idea of not being
in charge, of forced seduction, of being taken and done to while I’m helpless
to fight back. But in my fantasies everyone does what I want without me telling
them, and everything is for my pleasure and mine alone. Even the blowjobs where
I’m held down and not in charge, they’re at my pace, even though it
seems like they’re directing the scene. The tying up, the flogging, the double
penetration or whatever configurations I’ve encountered in my reading, the
teasing, the withholding of orgasm, they’d be done to me without my volition
but with me and my pleasure as everyone’s focus.”
She was surprised at how easily
the words came out of her mouth, yet she was more than a little skeptical that
she’d ever encounter just such a scenario. “But I know that’s an impossibility
because no one can read someone else’s mind. And no one is that altruistic to
focus strictly on my pleasure.”
“Jewel, you’d be surprised at
how much of forced seduction is exactly what you just posited. When partners
are attuned to each other, when they know each other’s darkest desires, when
they trust each other implicitly, they will be able to read inarticulate sounds
and involuntary body language, pick up on nuances, spoken or unspoken. Your
dream can come true.
“And, to address the last
part,” he continued, his voice lowering to a purr, “it’s not altruism, but
you’d also be surprised at how much pleasure the giver receives when
perpetrating these deeds. The feedback we get, watching how we make someone
come, is a high in itself.”
Falling, she was falling into
his eyes, those Svengali black-brown eyes that saw deep inside her now she’d
opened the door to her soul. She could almost believe him, believe that he
could touch every hidden part of her.
And she was surprised to realize
that she wanted him to do just that, touch her, take her, fulfill her. This
would be no rebound affair. She’d been divorced too long for that, had become
resigned to the fact that she was probably over the hill as far as the dating
pool went. But this man, this dominant man with gray-streaked hair and lived-in
face, who like her had adult children with problems, might just be the answer
to her fantasies. She needed to discover for herself.
“Show me,” she whispered.
