Welcome fellow Ellora's Cave author and friend Kate Hill as she talks a bit about her writing and her new release HEAT OF
THE MOMENT from Changeling Press.
Kate is a fan of
romance and the paranormal and has been writing for about twenty years. Her
first story was a short erotic vampire tale, published in 1996. Since then she
has sold over one hundred short stories, novellas and novels. Wow! THE CHIEFTAIN’S BRIDE and VAMPIRE MASTER,
have won The Romance Studio’s CAPA and, THE EMMACULATE, was nominated for a
Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Award. When she’s not writing, Kate enjoys
reading, working out and spending time with her family and pets.
*What is your current (next)
release and tell us a little about it.
My latest release is Heat
of the Moment, the last story in my Combustion series.
With his shady past, Jace
didn't think any company would hire him as engineer on a research ship headed
to Earth. His shipmates are willing to give him a chance to prove he's reformed
-- except for the security officer, Tiana. From the moment they meet, she makes
it plain she doesn't approve of him being aboard. It's hard enough when a
crewmate loathes you, but it's even worse when she's the sexiest woman you've
ever met.
Tiana hates
everything Jace stood for in the past and she's not willing to believe he's
turned his life around. As much as she wants him off the ship, she wants him in
her bed. She can't trust him, but can she resist him?

Have any of your
titles ever been changed from your original choice?
Yes, several.
Windswept was originally Birdman of the Adirondacks. Everything Nice was
originally Raised and Ready. The Sweet Love series was changed to Yummy Love
and Pleasured by the Bull became Naked Souls.
A lot of people think
that genre hopping isn’t a good idea. What do you think?
I think it's a great idea.
I don't agree with placing limits on something you're passionate about.
Do you write a novel
straight through? Or revise as you go? Plan a whole series in advance? Or does
the series evolve?
I prefer to work
using a loose outline. I need to know the major points in the plot and the
ending of the story, but I like to leave room for adjustments. Sometimes I plan
an entire series from the beginning, but other times a series springs from a
book that was meant to be a stand-alone story.
Thanks so much for being a guest at The Lusty View Kate!
